I owned one for a while and have had two CS-670's and one CS-6700. Those saws are OK, but the porting on them is more for mid-range power. They do fine, "grunt" pretty good, but not overly impressive in stock form. The 800 in particular had a "flat" filter element, and you had to remove a rubber plug to make carb adjustments.

#1 Have decided to start a thread dedicated to the Echo cs-800p since there is very little information out there on this saw. I also want to be able to add to the discussion without cluttering up someone else's thread. I was planning to run this saw with just a MM and tune but have changed my mind.

I've owned and currently use a total of three radios from Connect Systems, a CS700 (the original) handheld, a CS 800, and a CS 800D. I also own a MotoTurbo XPR5550. Of the four, only the original 800 and the Moto have had issues.

The Echo dealer near me let me pull the starter rope on both saws, and the CS680 seems a bit more to my liking. The CS800 was a brute with all of that compression and no compression release. I might just buy a CS680 with the 27" bar. Also like the manual over ride on the oiler.

The stocker on the bottom says Model CS-800 Power Pak Serial Number 0A-611206 On the other amp, it says the something but serial number 4A-01941016 And the 3rd one doesn't have a sticker, but is identical to the 0A-611206 amp. The 800 is not even close to a 7900. 800 is a very solid saw, however it is behind the times in speed, AV,. ... A used echo cs 800p came up for sale and it looks brand new, not a scuff or scratch that i could see, 36" bar and a 20" oregon pro am bar for $550. Is that a good price for a saw like this?

So that gave a slight edge to the 590 even though the chips looked bigger from the 800. And the 800 has the 32 in bar and the 590 a 20. Again advantage to 590. Plus the 590 is tuned good. And the 800 was 4 stroking pretty bad unless leaned on pretty good. By the end I had leaned the 800 a total of a 1/4 turn.
