The chromite ore from the Ring of Fire area of Northern Ontario was sieved to produce four size fractions used for the experiments. The average formula of chromite can be represented as (Mg 0.5Fe 0.5)(Cr 1.4Fe 0.1Al 0.5)O 4 [8]. Table 1 lists the compositions of the four size fractions of chromite.
