This is the InterContinental Shimao, a luxury five-star hotel currently under construction at the base of Sheshan Mountain in Songjiang District of Shanghai. It was designed by the British architecture design consultancy Atkins, who won the international design bid way back in 2006. The company describes their concept as follows:

The Songjiang Hotel is designed by UK architecture firm Atkins, who won the competition bid in 2006. Construction has just begun and will take up to three years, although the hotel could open in 2015.
